A Century of Life in Bethnal Green

A Century of Life in Bethnal Green is both a family memoir and an overview of a hundred years in the history of Bethnal Green. Our journey tracks through the decades, covering many social changes and includes the  momentous events of two World Wars, interspersed with the lives of members of a local extended family. It also contains interviews with local people and carefully researched historical facts. A special chapter covers the events surrounding the 1943 tube station disaster in Bethnal Green, including use of recently released documents that finally provide a full picture of events that took place that night.
